Yep, I'm a newbie here.. Need a candid answer to my question. I am considering the MT80Ti's, but need to know if this is an upgrade to my existing speakers. The wife wants these goal posts (Martin Logan SL3) out of the house. Here is my system:
Martin Logan SL3
Velodyne 15 w/400w amp
Odyssey Stratos Mono Block Extremes
CODA 02b pre
Musical Fidelity TriVista 21 tube DAC
Sony ES555 CD changer (the wife likes the convenience)
Other stuff, but who cares..
Room: 22x24x10 open into next room also.
Your comments are appreciated.

"The wife wants these goal posts (Martin Logan SL3) out of the house."

Sorry to hear that, I just listened to some of those "goal posts" two days ago and was impressed. They are big though. Can you upgrade your wife instead. Kidding of course.
As for the 80s I cant comment because I havent heard them yet. I do own the 60s and from what I understand they sound very much like the 80s and I have no overwhelming desire to trade them in on some SL3s.
I find that both speakers have great detail and imaging. I'm almost sure you would be happy with them.
Order some and give them a test drive, then let us know what YOU think.
I'd be interested in an A-B comparrison between the two.

I feel like I'm stealing Ray's schtick... so I'll give him royalties for this: "Sell the wife"
