In my quest for a subwoofer (again) I stumbled across the Costco and saw that they are selling 10" Klipsch (I think Synergy series) subwoofers for $199. Now, being the thinking man that I am, i pondered if I get one $600 12" SVS box sub or I could get 2 10" Klipsch subs and save $200 for like a tv. Would I still be better off with a SVS or would 2 Klipschs do the job?
Which SVS are you looking at?
I think you are looking at apples and oranges.
Klipsch are 10 inch fiber cones. SVS 12 inch aluminum cone and 325 watt amp.
If those are my two choices, the single SVS wins hands down. The PB12-ISD or even the HSU VTF3-MKII would work just fine and dandy.
I understand the SVS or HSU will be much better but I am comparing apples and oranges...that is an apple is nice but can i live with 2 oranges instead.
two poor sounding subs make poor sounding bass or one sweet sounding sub making sweet sounding bass. . . hmmmmm let's think
Briant, how about one
SVS PB10-ISD instead? If you are going to spend 400 bucks, do it right.
there is a black vtf-3 mk11 on audiogon new in the box for 600.00
Ok, I think I have narrowed down a list of subs to think about:
HSU STF-3 ($599)
HSU VTF-2 MK 2 ($499)
Klipsch Sub-12 ($450)
SVS PB-12/ISD ($599)
I really prefer 12 in sub but if furniture and stuff kills all the money, I would probably consider the PB-10 for $429.
