Ok, someone here tell me if the Rocket 750 would sound ok with the 150 center speaker. They also have a huge center speaker but don't think my wife will be happy with its size. I like the Axiom M60 but could never get an audition where I live. The 750 sounded great with that big center . The guy who let me listen to his setup just got it and was waiting for the rest of the speakers. I'm tired of reading about speakers. I want to order some and start enjoying them. Is the M60 up there with the Rockets. I know this is an Axiom side so don't flame . Just help me out some.

I have heard that the Rocket 750s are significantly more laid back than Axioms, so I don't know that the VP150 would be a good match. Not that I've ever personally heard 750s. Aren't there Rocket smaller centers?

Axioms and Rockets are in the same ballpark when it comes to sound quality. Many of the newer Rocket models are not that different from the Axioms (I have personal experience with Axiom M60s/VP150/QS8s AND Rocket 850s/RSC200 Bigfoot center/RSS300s). However the 750s, which are being discontinued and are on sale at a knockout price, are probably the one Rocket speaker that sounds least like the Axioms. IMHO, any of the Axioms would be a better match for the VP150.

As Ken mentioned, Rocket does have a smaller center, the RSC100 (10.1" H x 8.4" D x 20.5" W • 25 lbs each), which is on sale for $199, but are backordered and due at the end of the month.

Just my $.02, but I'd either go all Axioms, or all Rockets, rather than mixing them. I doubt you'd be disappointed in either system.

Hi Robert, welcome. There are several very helpful Axiom owners in Florida, so please do check again to see if any are near you and willing to host an audition.

I own M60's and have heard the Rocket 750 and 850 at board member lobm7's home (I believe he also frequents the AV123 boards). He was very gracious. I prefer the M60 to the 750 sonically; to my ear, it seems more transparent, open and detailed.

I would also encourage you to stay with one manufacturer for the whole setup, or at least the center and mains. Both companies provide excellent products and good value, but only Axiom supports North American manufacturing jobs.

Oh, sorry....I am way south of you in Vero Beach.

Good luck though!

Is Jacksonville too far away (3.5 hours)? I was told that the m22's and the m60's would sound nearly identical in my room if you are looking for an adequate comparison.
