I just placed an order for two M2s with full metal brackets. I'm planning on using them in the standard vertical mounting scenario. But I may need to try and mount them horizontally if there is a headroom issue. Has anyone used them this way?
Hi Mike,

I have no first-hand experience with this, but I don't see why it would not work. It seems like you'd have to change the orientation of how the bracket is mounted to the speaker, rather than changing the orientation of the bracket to the wall, however.

I know that was a worthless post, but I wanted somebody to reply. It'll be fine.
Hi Mike--

I've done that with my M22tis and FMBs. However, I had an older model M22 which did *not* come with the mounting bolt, so I had to drill holes into the cabinet. So I don't know if there is anything else special you're going to have to do.

As has come to light in another thread on my room's frequency response, there can be frequency response issues with mounting a speaker close to a boundary (the ceiling in my case, which appears to be causing a dip @ 250 Hz). The horizontal mounting may also have an impact (smaller dip at 2.5 Khz).

However, overall, I've been very pleased with the sound, and don't feel that the horizontal mounting has seriously degraded the sound. The good folks at Axiom were very helpful in discussing the mounting process, and you should contact them if you have any questions. Their recommendation to me was to mount them with the tweeters on the inside.

Regards,
Rich
