I've decided to stick with Axiom in replacing my side surrounds, but I'm having trouble with the decision between the QS8's and the M22's.
Both would have to be stand mounted on the sides of the couch.
For the QS8 owners how do they sound with multichannel music?
Or will the M22's be good for both music as well as giving full surround.

I just replaced my M22s that I used as surrounds with QS8s. I used the M22s for over a year and I thought that they sounded very good with both movies and SACDs. I will say that I listen to more music and music DVDs than movies though. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the QS8 play music. I think that either choice would be a good addition if you mainly listen to music. If you watch a lot of movies then the QS8s would be the better choice. My listening area is pretty small (about 2300 cubic feet) so there is probably not a huge difference between the two in my setup. Your area may be different. I switched the M22s with my brother-in-law who needed to use them as mains for a TV.

I went from M2 surrounds to QS8 surrounds. Much better for movies, and I would say maybe 90% as good for music. Definitely better for music than your typical dipole. I did slightly prefer the more localized sound of the M2s for music though.

Having said that, for anything but a "mostly music" system I would go with QS8s again.

The real solution, though, is to run a 7.1 system with QS8 surrounds and M2/M22 rears, then plug the surround channels on your CD player into the rear inputs on the receiver, so 5.1 music plays on the rears instead of the surrounds. I haven't found a good trick for getting surround info to only the rears when running stereo content expanded to 5.1 or 7.1, but normally I listen to stereo content with just the mains anyways.
