Hi, newbie here and don't have speakers from Axiom yet. This is what I am looking at. M60's, VP150, and not sure between the M2i's and QS8's. Anyone want to throw in there 2 penny's of experience between the two for surrounds, and my listening habits are 80% or better multichannel music, like Dark Side of the Moon on SACD.

Room size 12x18 excellent acoustics.
Below is a partial response from Alan at Axiom

Thanks!

Mike

Get the VP150 center channel to tonally match the M60s. Your room size is 1800 cu. ft, so you could use the quadpolar QS8 surrounds on the side walls (they come with free brackets) or direct-radiating M2i bookshelf speakers. The QS8s yield a more enveloping surround sound field with multichannel music or home theater. Try posting your question re the surround speakers on our Axiom message boards to get other opinions.

Hello and welcome. I have both QS8s and M2s and have swapped them around between side and back surround positions. I listen to about 70% movies and the balance music including multichannel SACD and DVD Audio. My opinion? The QS8s are substantially better than the M2s for both music and movies at least in the rooms I've used them in.

Now, don't get me wrong ... there's nothing wrong with the M2s, they're great little speakers. However, for surround duties, I think the QS8s are much better. For 2 channel stereo listening, I much prefer the M3s.

In any case, you can't go wrong. Good luck!
I was considering something other than QS8 for my surrounds (M60s or M80s) and had the chance to post with Alan about the situation. His strong recommendation was for the QS8s because of the sound dispersion characteristics of the QS8. I took his recommendation and that is what I bought.
I"ve never owned Axiom bookshelf speakers, but I think my Qs8's do a great job with music as well as movies.
Ditto the last two - QS8s.
Thanks much for the quick responses! I will go with the QS8's. Just like has been said, I can't be dissatisfied with the excellent return policy.
I have my Klipsch speakers on ebay right now so as soon as I move those out the wife will approve the Axiom purchase.. lol!

Mike
You could always try both, send back what you don't like.
Thanks! Will likely do just that.. ordering speakers next week! :-)
