I am currently in a temporary place and do not have a stand for my reciever yet. I have it placed on top of my big Sub temporarily. Will I damage the reciever if I leave it there for some time. I do not play the sub too loud so vibration isnt a problem but can there be magnetic inteference that can damage the reciever?
I can tell you we don't design semiconductor devices (of which there are many in a receiver) anticipating constant extreme vibration except for automotive devices. As such, I can't imagine it's a great idea.
I figured as much so now I moved it and its on top of its cardboard box for now. Damn the reciever was heavy ... 50lbs+

Thanks for the reply.
I agree with Semi. Home electronic equipment including computers are not designed to absorb constant jarring or vibrations. Normal operation of Subs necessarily produce vibrations. I hope the cardboard box is strong enough to hold it. You do not want to drop your receiver either.
Pinoy: Well the box was pretty heavy duty. The Rotel receiver is a monster.
As the saying goes... "Puede na! "
