I have an EP500 sub and last night out of nowhere the sub quit playing and went into a high pitched buzz.

I have heard the 60hz ground loop hum and this is alot higher pitched. I tried removing the chassis ground screw to no effect and i disconnected the input source. I even tried plugging it into 3 different outlets.

Anyone have any idea what this could be? I NEED my bass!!

Call Axiom ASAP.

Sounds like the demons that used to haunt my EP600 have migrated to your 500, that is good for me, sucks for you.

Like Eric mentioned, it probably would be best to contact Axiom...

I sent axiom an email...they told me to leave it unplugged for an hour and all should be good.

We'll see :P

hmmm, something is telling me that is like telling somebody to reboot their PC to resolve an issue. Let us know what happens.

Whenever I read the title to this thread 'ep500 scaring me', the first thought to cross my mind was 'Dayam boy ... that's a GOOD thing!'

Oh well, good luck with the 500 there soldier.

So i left it unplugged for about 36 hours and got the same result. Called brent at axiom today and let him listen to the sub through the phone. He immediately said that he'd send me a new amp.

So now on to more important things..Where do i get a muppet avatar? :P

You also have to unplug your computer for the 36hrs as well.

That is your problem, you left it unplugged 36 times the reccomended duration.

It took exactly 1 week from the time of my phonecall till i recieved my replacement amp. Not too shabby in my mind.

Just in time for weekend movie viewing.
