Hello all,
first off I apologize if this sounds really dumb but its all a bit confusing.

I have a Yamaha 661 on the back of the amp it has 3 hdmi, DVI/CBL, DVD and Out.

I am upgrading my Foxtel to IQ2 which will allow me to connect via HDMI, the problem is there are only 2 HDMI connections that I can use. I don't know what the Out connection is used for?

So, do I conntect my LCD to the DVI/CBL and the DVD to the DVD and run the Foxtel straight to my LCD? Which would be the best way to connect these things?

And what is the HDMI out used for?

Any Advice would be appreciated

The out usually go to the TV. The other 2 are used for source components (DVD player, Cable box...).

In your case (and please note that I assume Foxtel is some sort of cable box).

1) DVD player to DVD (either is OK, but it is less confusing if you are using existing labels)
2) Foxtel to DVI/CBL
3) LCD TV to "Out"

Thanks for the very quick reply \:\)

Yes Foxtel is satellite (Pay TV). I find it odd they don't just label the hdmi out as TV?

One other thing... Using HDMI, I won't need to connect any cables for the audio is this correct?

I will change things around and see how it works.

Thank you again

Both devices should be able to send audio through HDMI, but you'll have to try to be certain. You may have to change settings on both source devices.
