Now that I took the time to hook up my kids Wii to the projector and play The Hulk game we bought him, I'm not real impressed with the 480i picture.
I see you have to purchase a special component cable to get 480p? Any cheap places to get them? I'm routing it through my Denon, which has component out to the projector.
I have one that I got last year off of eBay. It helped out, but now that the Wii is no longer in my theater (it has moved to the living room, where honestly it gets more use), I don't use the 480p cable. Besides, if I put it back in my home theater, I am already using both of my component inputs on my receiver for other HT gear.
I could just give it to you!
Oh, now you tell me.
I just ordered a 6ft from monoprice for about $6 including shipping. thanks for the offer...
Hell, he posted 11 minutes after your post!!!!
I got mine through Monoprice too... Big difference in the picture. We hadn't played with the Wii too much, but I played with it a bit when I hooked the new cable up last week... My oldest boy (4 years old) got so excited playing bowling that we already made a play date when I get back home next week.
I know what your saying, my 4 yr old son kicked my but in Tennis the other day.
Then I beat him in Bowling..
monoprice, dirt cheap.
Nick I have to bowl my best to beat my 5yr old, he has been playing the Wii since we picked one up 2 years ago. Man 2 years already, time flies when you're having fun.
I'm currently "hooked" on MarioWare Smooth Moves... Very strange, but fun, game(s)... My wife doesn't think that I should show our youngest the game since at one point you have to pick someone's long nose hair, and in another spot, you need to clean a cow's dirty rear end...
Maroi Kart Wii is going to be under the tree for my boys, anyone here have it? If so we will have to race each other....after Christmas of course.
Mario Kart is great fun! I love that you can just put the game in, and you are racing in less than a minute and can be done 3 minutes later, or 3 hours later depending on how much you want to play. Most of our other popular games have a minimum of 15-20 minute time commitment to get to the next "save point" but with Mario Kart, if you have 5 minutes, you can do a full race!!!
You made the right move Randy. I paid about $5 for my cable too, and it is a nice improvement.
Thanks, I'm thinking about getting Mario Kart for the kids for Xmas. Jacob had saved up some money recently and purchased The Hulk, it is not to bad. The Axiom subs are kicking in.
