hi,
I have a denon 2309 receiver can I connect the output(FL/FR) from the receiver to a 2 channel amp.
This denon model does not have a pre-amp out
thanks

Vish, welcome. No, the input to a separate amplifier is a low level one that isn't compatible with the much higher speaker level output from the receiver terminals.

Is there any way I could connect my denon 2309 to a emotiva upa-2 amp?

Vish, as you said above, the 2309 does not have Pre-outs to hook up to any amp. The UPA-2 has RCA input jacks like any other amp where you go from the Pre-outs on a receiver to the amp. Then the speaker binding posts on the amp are hooked up to your speakers.

vish, is there some specific reason you are looking to add a seperate amp, ie. listen at really loud levels or very large room? The 2309 should be able to drive any speaker to about 90-95db with ease.

I have m80 v2 and was trying to get some more kick for those FR/FL. I have VP150 V2 which is fine with the denon 2309.

No can do.

How big is your room? That Denon should give the 80's plenty of power, unless your listening at concert levels.

Wouldn't count on the quality of the conversion being particularly high, though.

Here is a link to the manual, the specs look pretty good.

Vish, your room is quite large so I can see why you may want to look at a seperate amp. You could also look at just selling the Denon and going for a full separate system.

I didn't know there would be a harmonic distortion figure (though small) when attenuating a signal in a device of that type. But... what do I know? \:\)
