Both are very popular with the DIY crowd. The EP2500 has been verified to deliver the most watts per $, close to its rated specs.

thats what i herd that its rated for 2400w and u can expect at least 2000w . i dont know why anyone would use anything else , only draw back is that u have to swap out the fan cause its mega loud . ive herd the dcx2496 is amazing

Not too many here have built their own subs. The only person I know of has not been around lately. Try hometheatershack.com for more info on both products. The site is pretty good.

i think i know who your talking about if his name is chris . ive seen his diy subs in pics with axiom ep600 and m80's . thats actualy the guy that designed the subs im going to build . but i cant seem to join that forum for some reason so i was trying to get some feedback from this site but its probaly not the best idea seing how this is a manufacture site .

I dont know if your talking about me but I built a pair of the 12vq subs and use the 2496 with a pair of QSC rmx1450's. I had the ep2500 for a short time before i got the qsc's. Either way its a pretty slick combo. not only am i using the dcx for crossing over my M80's and subs but also to eq in room response in both the subs and the 80's. The result is pretty impressive. I never thought i would be one to EQ my system but when i stopped caring about the audiophile bs and did it i wont go back.
