I don't get to crank it up much (little kids) so this might have been for a while, but I noticed last night that my EP500 sub is not working. The outlet works fine, the cable has not been touched since I installed everything, but the green power light is off no matter which outlet I use.

Is there a fuse in there somewhere? Anything else I can check? I sure hope I don't have to send this monster in....

Thanks!

Oliver

thanks for that link! I had tried to find a tech help faq, guess I did not look good enough :-)
I found the fuses, the seem ok, the wire is not burned through, but one appears to have a little melting on what appears to be an outer wire wrapped around the main wire. Or maybe the main wire is shaped like that? Hard to see. I guess I'll first get two new fuses and hope that that's the reason, not something else. Outlet works and cable works too, also tried a different cable just to be sure.

Thanks!

oliver

PS: tried calling but only got a machine - left a message.

I'd replace the fuses anyways, just to be sure. After that, I'd give Axiom a call to walk me through further tests.

I got some new fuses, but I guess the wrong kind? 3.15A 250V Slow-Blow, what ever that means. Called the help line again and they're sending me replacement fuses, what great service! Still had all my info in their system too.

Hopefully that will fix the problem!

Thanks Axiom and thanks Dr. House :-)

Happy to help Oliver. I take it your EP500 is still covered under warranty. Hopefully the fuses Axiom sends you does the trick, if not the next step might be a replacement amp.

it's almost 4 years old, doubt that's under warranty. And I sure hope I don't have to buy a new amp for it......

Wasn't there discussion not too long ago about there being a second set of fuses on some 500s...(either the newer ones or the older ones)?
