Hi, I have an Algonquin/m3 outdoor speaker.

It buzzes/rattles on low frequencies at moderate volumes.

Tried just about everything and have sent back to Axiom for repair.

I notice that the speaker feels pretty light and that there is almost NO damping.

Axiom is blaming the grills, but I think it is cabinet resonance.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Welcome to the forum monkeydog.

This is the first time I have read of this type of issue with the Algonquin outdoor speakers. I am sure they will get to the bottom of the problem and get it solved for you quickly.

Cheers!

I haven't heard of anyone else having issues either....

Is there a wire that's touching a surface in there? Have you taken the drivers out to look inside?

I'm pretty sure Axiom found the problem: the grill. Unless monkeydog has already received the speaker back and it still rattles.

I had this issue when the Algonquins first came out. I figured out that it was a wire hitting/rattling one the wires inside. I zipped tied the wires to one of the braces and the problem went away. I also had another problem with one of them in a sence that the port's screen rattled. I determined this because I was able to move the screen with no resistance. Axiom sent me a new one and problem was fixed. So, check both (wires and port screen) to see if any of these are causing the issue. My Algonquins are problem free now and have had them for aboutg 2 years.
