I already have a set of Zone 2 speakers that I am using on my Onkyo 805 and I bought another set to use in another room. So I have to add a speaker selector switch. I found a couple of cheap ones and I can't decide which one to go with.

They are basically the same price, but one will allow 6 speaker and the other only 4. They have spring clips. But, the one that allows 4 speakers will accept up to 200 watts per channel. For the most part I will only be using one set of speakers at a time and only having the option of switching between 4 sets of speakers is fine for now. As far as music fidelity, will one be a better option over the other?

I think I would go with the one from RPE. The Parts Express with the impedance matching always makes me worry about the internals of the switch going bad or at the very least adding some increased unwanted impedance/resistance.

In the RPE link it says "Impedance constant at 4-8 Ohms." So I think that the RPE one also does impedance matching. I think that just about any speaker selector with 4 or more speakers would have to do impedance matching, since if I have four pairs of 8 ohm speakers hooked up and try to run them all at once then my receiver would have a 2 ohm load. Most likely the receiver wouldn't be able to handle this. I'm betting that many dedicated amps would even have problems with a 2 ohm load. If I had some 4 ohm speakers in the mix then things would be even worse, dipping into between a 1 and 2 ohm load.

Must have missed that part on the RPE. I guess it is pick which ever one you like the look of then.

Well, I think I found an even better option. I've been very happy with the cables and speaker wire from monoprice.com, so I think that the components should also be up to the same high standards.

This is essentially the same as the other two, but only $23. Since I only want to use two pairs of speakers right now I can leave the impedance button off and it will act only as a switch. My Onkyo 805 shouldn't have a problem handling a 4ohm load and so I should be fine. If I get speakers for another room, I will have to start using the impedance matching though.
