The question I have is about what product to purchase for my main floor area. I am considering the M22 or the M50. The area is open with the living room to the left of the entrance, a hallway going forward, at the end is the family room and to the left is the open concept kitchen.The size of the family room is approx 15ftx11ft. The kitchen size is about 12x11. The TV is installed in the corner of the family room oposite the kitchen. I do not have enough space to install the speakers left and right of the tv. How important is to have the tv between the two speakers? Can they be positioned both on the side of the tv and about 6 to 8 ft apart? Is the M22 set suitable for this size room, or should I choose the M50? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Pictures might help here. It's a little hard to determine your needs with just the description you've given.

The Front left and right speakers need to be positioned on the appropriate side of the TV. This is very important if you plan on using the speakers with the TV. Of course, if you are only listening to music on the speakers then it wouldn't matter.

How far is your listening distance going to be. How high are your ceilings?

As mentioned, pictures (or a floorplan) will help greatly.

Mishu, welcome. You can place the speakers entirely to one side of the TV, which might be fine for music, but if you were watching a movie or other material on the TV, the sound image would be entirely off to the side, rather than being centered on the screen.

At a typical listening distance of 10' or so, the M22s are fully capable of producing sound levels to the highest safe limits.

Perhaps you might consider wall mounting the smaller M2s so that you can keep them on the left and right side of the TV.

If you place them both to one side of the TV, panning effects (sound moving from left to right or vice-versa) will be wonky and weird.

Thank you all for the suggestions, I would like to show a picture, however I do not know how to post it here on the forum, or if it is possible to post it. The kitchen and the family room are "face to face", open concept. Stnading in the center of the two areas, and having the kitchen behind, the tv is in the left corner of the family room. To the left of the tv there is the patio sliding door, and to the right is the fire place. How will be the sound if the speakers will be installed to the left and right of the tv but on two different walls, they are in a 90 deg angle? Would that matter?

To answer to David, the listening distance is approx 8 to 10 ft, the height of the ceiling is the regular 8 ft. The point is that the tv is right in the corner so to have the speakers left and right, they will have to be on different walls installed. Is that a problem? If the tv would be installed in the center of a wall, it would be simple, each speaker on each side.

I was also thinking the buys a set of M22, install them on stands on the left and right of the tv and purchase a subwoofer under the tv. The distance between the two speakers will be approx 4 ft. Is that distance to small for a proper audition? What subwoofer would you recommend in combination with a set of M22? Thanks again.
