this might be of interest to some people.
I bought this CD in the 80's so i don't know if it's still easily available:
Denon Audio Technical CD;
The disc has 99 tracks.

you can get some info about it's contents here:
http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/...chnical+CD.htm

if anyone does not want to pay high prices for it, i know a good source; just send me a note at: Gellidius at yahoo.com

That link brought me to a site in which the first album i saw was the dreaded Nickelback.

And here I thought that I had the only copy, ha!!

It was expensive way back then, but now at $60 it is even more so...

i bought this test Denon CD around 1984-1985, the year when stores were beginning to have a good choice of recordings on CD, a few thousands.
at the time, they talked about the CD in an audio magazine (it wasn't audio-video then), and i went to the largest music store in Montreal. they did not have it in stock so i ordered it.

i had all forgotten about it when, more than one year later i get a phone call and it was the store telling me my CD had arrived, direct from Japan. LOL.

like the great majority of CD's at the time, i paid $25 for it.
the next year, prices started to go down.
