Hey guys. Just got a replacement tweeter from Axiom for my VP150 V3 Center Channel. No instructions came with it and I'm not sure how to hook up this new tweeter. Looks like there's two sets of wires going into the existing tweeter but I have no idea how to disconnect them and hook them to the new one. Please help! Thanks

This may help.

The VP150 has two tweeters, so I imagine one set of wires goes to the crossover and the other runs across to the other tweeter. What does the wiring look like - two wires going into a single crimp connector, or two spades on each side of the tweeter ?

There should be some kind of polarity indication on or near the tweeter pins... maybe a '+' or a coloured mark. Find the corresponding mark on both old and new tweeters, and if they are different (eg + on one and blue paint on the other then check with Axiom re: polarity.
I'll take a picture and post it so you know what I'm seeing. I'm just surprised they didn't send instructions.

Since Axiom has changed the tweeter design since the V3 series, I am assuming they sent you one of the originals, in which case, the wires should, with a little tug just pull off the speaker connections making sure you hold on to the wires so they don't disconnect from the crossover inside the cabinet. Of course, just make sure that you re-connect them to the same positions on the speaker before you screw it back in to the box.

I had a problem with my V3 180 in which I chose to change the tweeters to the newer design that is now standard in all Axiom speakers. For some strange reason, the newer design tweeter connectors do not exactly match the previous design and as a result I had to play around with the metal connectors on the wires by having to use needle nose pliers to pry them open and closed to make sure they fit over the connectors on the speaker. I notified Axiom of that situation but never got a reply.

Just don't let bridgeman tell you that a shotgun is one of the required tools for changing a tweeter.
There is a small hole on the spade connector that has a hook that needs to be gently pushed back to allow the connector to slide off. Its is a little lock mechanism and once its I apart the tab should then be re bent to allow it to lock to the new tweeter.
