Hey all,

I have an Axiom EP-125 sub that keeps blowing the fuse whenever I try to power it on. It was plugged into a power strip, but I’ve also tried plugging it in directly to the wall socket – the result is the same.

If it matters, the sub is sitting on top of an Energy powered sub, plugged into a Harmon/Kardon AVR520. My guess is there is something wrong with the amp that will require shipment back to Axiom, but I was hoping to get some suggestions/advice on what else I can troubleshoot before I make arrangements to send it back.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I don't know if this will void the warranty, but I would suggest taking out the woofer and making sure the speakers are correctly attached. I'd believe that the speaker wires are shorting out somewhere. Also, some of the amp could be physically damaged as a result of shipping, but that is a bit less likely. More than likely, a speaker lead is touching the amplifier's internals.

Hope this helps,

Is the blowing fuses something that just started happening meaning youve had it for a while and it just started or is it a new sub that just started doing this... Either way, i believe if its still under warranty you should contact axiom about getting it fixed. because even if it is something simple, it should not be blowing fuses.

I've had the sub for a while now, and haven't had any problems up to this point.

I will be contacting Axiom about it tomorrow, but thanks for the advice so far. I think I'll hold off on taking the woofer out until I speak with them
