My 1500 will randomly stop working on a single channel. Nothing being touched or adjusted and it'll work fine for a while then randomly one channel stops working. Normally to remedy the issue I can power it off completely and turn it back on but last night this didn't work. To troubleshoot I moved channel 5 (front left speakers on my 1100s) to channel 3 (center channel) and the 1100 started working properly. Not only did the 1100 start working but the center was unaffected to the move to channel 5. Having a hard time deciphering what exactly could be going on. Anyone had any similar issues with theirs?

The ADAs incorporate multiple protection functions. One or more of these functions may be getting activated. It may be getting activated due to an ADA fault or speaker cross-over or wiring.

I've had one of my 1000s temporarily disconnect one of my M5s. It did what it was supposed to because the M5 is such a greedy swine.

Two 1000s and a 1500 shut down and I had to power them on and off to recover after a power line sag. According to Andrew, they should have recovered on their own. I don't plan to pursue this further at this point.

If it’s the same amp channel that goes out every time and you’ve tried swapping different inputs off the DSP (I.E. tweeter<—>woofer inputs along w/the speakers outs) and it continues to be that amp channel …
Then your amp needs to be looked at.

If the channel follows the input swap … then a couple of more tests are needed to determine if it’s the DSP (most likely) or speaker/cabling

I had a single channel die on my first ADA1500. Sent it back earlier this year. It died in a way they had never seen before.
Got a new one. Received it later this year.
Another thread on this issue but in brief, it had a hum that the other one never did.
Recently somewhat resolved that (in just the past month).
Was a full year of going back and forth.
I've seen some other posts, people not trusting the Axiom amps.

Definitely seems to be the 5th channel on the ADA. For now moved the center back to the AVR. Will have to contact axiom about the issue.

Be persistent with your phone calls.

My ADA 1000-8 came in today so if I need to send back the 1500 for servicing I can still have everything in operation. Still trying to get through to support but I'm limited on how often I can call.

Sending the 1500 in for service. Curious to see what's going on with it.

Using my tremendous knowledge of all things electrical and electronic, I can tell you exactly what's going on. One or more parts is pooched!

I didn't take it apart but maybe a bad cold solder connection. I didn't get any DC readings before I sent it back. Not sure how long it'll take for diagnosis but curious to see what the issue is.

Finally got notice my amp will be headed back to me shortly. Just specified a bad part but didn't say specifically what was causing the issue.

think it as being lucky that you only use a single channel per speaker. for those of us with active crossover speakers, the downside is that you can have for example, the mids from the left speaker not working and left wondering why your sound isn't as good. This happened to me. my new ADA1500 one of the 5 channels just was wonky in it worked some times and not others. I eventually gave up with getting support from Axiom and just bought a cooking fan to blow air into the amp and that seem to make it work more reliable..
