I need a longer sub cable to move my sub where I want it. Looking for advice on a rca to rca adapter. Do I risk losing signal? Should I just buy a longer cable? I currently have a 15' but I want to move my sub to a different place and I want to run the cable under my floor so I need about 35-40 ft cable. Any suggestions appreciated.

Jeff, if you're talking about the adaptors that run around $2 and take an RCA plug on each side, the additional loss isn't significant and they're commonly used. Whether you want to use the adaptor and a 25' coaxial cable or simply use a single new 40' cable is your choice since there's no good reason to be concerned with either option.

A splicer like this will probably work just fine, but you may want to spring for the longer cable for peace of mind.

Thanks John and Peter, that's exactly what I needed to know. I can save a few bucks with an adapter, so I believe thats the route I'll go.
