When placed below the screen, should the VP150 be flipped so it fires up? That would appear to put you on a similar listening axis as you would be if it were placed above the TV and placed normally. Also when moving laterally (side to side) I notice some "hot spots" where there's more treble energy than a centrally located listener hears. i thought that the drive layout of the 150 eliminated changes in timbre for off-axis listeners (or maybe these "hot spots" don't really contribute to timbre changes).

Thanks for any thoughts.

I find my VP150 is very clear dialogue regardless of placement.

Leave it facing straight, listen for a while, then face it tilting up and see how you like it. Keep the better of the two to your ear

Sure, Tony, if the VP150 is well below the screen it should be flipped so that it tilts up. On the dispersal question, I've often mentioned that for that reason I don't care for the MTM configuration and suggest a small vertical speaker as similar as possible to the mains above the low bass. I also have seen the reports that the TMMMT configuration is a significant improvement in this regard, but I don't have any personal experience with it.

Thanks for the reply, guys. The reason I ask is that many speaker designers design for a listening axis either above or below the screen. Maybe the VP150 works well both ways. My center is right below the screen about 27 inches off the floor. I'll try it both ways (flipped and normal) to see if there's any difference in sound.

It might be valuable to understand if center speakers angle is as important as left/right speaker "height" (left/right discussion suggest that the tweeter should matching ear height)? Or is there more room for "error". Does anyone have insight on this?

I just spoke with Joe Vassallo (very nice fellow) from Axiom and he said that when placed low below the screen, the VPs are designed to be flipped. Since my VP150 is essentially at normal speaker stand height (27 inches) he recommended I orient it normally. My listening tests bear this out.
