Hey guys, hope you can help me with this.
Listening to a cd the other day, I noticed a slight crackle or buzzing noise betwwen songs. I paused the cd player and cranked up the volume to hear it better. Then I switched the source to video or dvd and didnt hear it; switched back to cd as source and the crackle was gone. Being a couple of weeks ago,I thought problem solved. Wrong! Got up this morning, put on some tunes, and the crackle was back. Crap!! I tried switching sources again but this time it did not work. Turned on a dvd (Bourne Idenity) and there was no crackle. Turned it back to cd, and the crackle is back.
The only difference between the "episodes", is the upgrade from m22s to m60s,(which I dont think has anything to do with the problem).
I've turned the cd player off, leaving the h/k on in cd mode, and there is still a crackle.
The cd is connected analog the dvd is connected with digital coax.
Any suggestions????

Try this. Put the CD player on different analog inputs on your H/K. If that doesn't work try swapping out your interconnects. This way you can determine if it's your h/k or the interconnects. Reseating and re-routing the interconnects may take care of it. I hope it's a simple fix.

Good Luck!

I also get a crackle in Video mode (analog connected directtv box)
On cd mode no processing (stereo), the crackle is only in the right channel. When I switch to 3 channel stereo, I can hear it in all 3 channels. It doesnt effect the sound much except in quiet parts of a song. (its a slightly intermentant crackle) Damn crackles!!

Hmmm... Very strange. You said this just started to happen after you upgraded your speakers? Did any of the wiring get disturbed during the upgrade? And it's only analog sources?
Have you tried re-routing the power cables away from the interconnects? WallWarts are notorious for causing problems like this too.

Try disconnecting power and cables to other sources to see if it goes away (I know it's a pain). If it does go away at least you can zero out the problem when you begin reconnecting components one at a time to see what's causing the problem. If you use wire ties, don't over tighten them. Seperate power cables from audio. You probably know all of this.

So many variables here...

It (the crackle) happened once before with m22s, but was fixed by switching sources back and forth.
What are wallwarts??

Sorry, A wallwart is what comes with low voltage equipment, it's a transformer. You see them with cell phones(chargers), computer gear and sometimes audio equipment.

Also, I hope that I didn't insult your intelligence. I like helping out if I can.

The "crackle" , does it sound like static?

I'm not smart enough for you to insult my intelligence. ; )
The crackle does sound like static, and I noticed by unplugging the cd player, the crackle gets louder.
My powered antenna does have a wallwart, I'll try unplugging that.
Could this be my power strip causing the problem???

Anything is possible with electronics. Try just plugging in one source and your h/k. Static electricity always has a "potential" that lingers in the air, cables and etc. Is the climate dry right now? I have several theorys. I just can't seem to put it into words yet.

Thanks a million!!!!!!!
I unplugged the wallwart to my iPod, and bingo no more crackle.
Have you guys finally gotten some rain up there in Colorado Springs? My brother lives in Monument and he's been worried about "ya'lls drought. I'll be up to see him towards the end of August. Cant wait.
Thanks again

I hope this is the final solution. I strongly recommend a power conditioner. I have a Panamax 5300 and love it! If you ever decide to get one, buy it from an authorized dealer if the equipment insurance matters to you. If not send me a private message and I'll hook you up.

Oh yeah, the weather here is unusual, but needed. I'm not going to complain, everything is green again!

I'm glad I could help.
