I really loved this band and saw them many times in concert. Had most of their stuff on vinyl, but never updated to their catalog to cd. This set might do it for me. Rhino puts out some great packages but sometimes their remastering and transfers can be a bit sloppy. I hope some care went into this project.

I picked up the Best of... Talking Heads CD in the last year, it's got pretty much all I wanted on it. And the remastering wasn't bad at all.

David Byrne doesn't seem nearly as weird as he did to me way back then though.

You know I was thinking that the other day when you posted the lyrics to that teen angst piece. Fifteen years ago punk music seemed so raw and on the edge. Today much of it just seems like any other rock and roll. The Best of set that you picked up, is that the double cd that has been out for many years? The thing that seemed interesting to me on this new set is the cd on one side and multi channel on the other. I read the thing twice and I'm not clear if all the material is in multi channel or if just some of it was. I couldn't tell by the way it was written. I'm not even ready for multi channel yet, but you never know and couple more pairs of Axioms anbd I'm good to go

Oz, my impression is that only the tracks that were highlighted were multi-channel recordings, but I could certainly be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. I have the double-disc set you're talking about: "Sand in the Vaseline". Now that's definitely worth picking up, but I had to augment it with "Remain in Light" and the expanded version (is it still available?) of "Stop Making Sense". I consider myself a middleweight TH fan, and those three albums cover everything I want to hear. Got my Laurie tickets in the mail today, by the way.

Sand in the Vaseline... That's the one. How could I forget the title of that?
Yeah the highlighting makes sense. I guess I was being dense or I just stopped making sense. Oh god that is bad!

The thing about Sand in the Vaseline was , for me it was not complete enough. I really like just about everything they did. They slipped a little right at the very end but otherwise I consider most of it essential. Thanks for jarring my memory.

Congratulations on the tickets!
