Hi Everyone,
I have a sub along with the Epic in/on wall speakers and it is fried. I bought it in 2005 I believe. I tried to have it repaired as it was vibrating at low volumes and causing a scratchy sound every time we heard voices or low frequency sounds. They tried to change a switch and other parts on the master board but in the end I was told that it was totally fried. My question is: Is it possible to just replace the master board as opposed to buying a new sub? If so, is it practical? Model is EP175 v2 / S/N6120003 Cherry BL A B. Thanks for any advice, Reyucel Edited by reyucel (08/16/13 07:06 PM) |

possible, your best bet would be to email or call Axiom...

I can't fathom why you would try to have it repaired without calling Axiom first.
Phone is better than email, IMO.

Welcome Reyucel,
I have an EP600 with a bad amp as well. After a quick e-mail to Axiom, they confirmed it could not be repaired. They kindly offered an updated (most current) replacement amp for a fraction of what the entire sub would cost.

That could be done for around 20-50$. And, since it's an 05 it's long out of warantee; most companies don't offere anywhere near the longterm out of warantee support that Ian does... So, i can see why someone would attempt to have it fixed, not having dealt/heard about the post warrantee support.. Reyucle, on my 05 model EP-600 the amp went out. i "traded in" my old/"broken" amp, and got a new one. i think my total cost was around $160 i did this in either 2011, or 2012.. not exactly sure, but it wasn't too long ago... i would guess your cost will be substantially less. hope this helps. please pardon any dumb typos, as im on my phone... ![]() |

Thanks again folks,
I know I should have called first but as dakkon mentioned it has been 8 years and I knew the warranty was over. I will be calling in on monday to see what can be done. As I said the master board is completely fried and I'm hopeful the the V3 of EP175 would be compatible. We'll see. Thanks again for your comments and advice. reyucel |

I'd suggest it would be a great time to upgrade your sub.

If you can afford to go with the EP350 instead, you'll be glad you did.
