I have a down-firing subwoofer and I'm thinking of replacing it with the EP500 subwoofer. I'm wary, however, because I'm afraid the sound will emanate toward only 1 direction. Can anyone say if this is true or if, similar to a downfiring subwoofer, the sound is NOT localized?
Thanks.

subs are non-directional, unless your crossover is set to high.

There's nothing to worry about. If low bass sounds (about 80 Hz and lower) were localizable, then you'd be able to tell where they were coming from regardless of which direction the driver was facing. In other words, the direction the sub driver faces has no impact on whether or not you can localize the sound.
