So, what the heck is this thing, Peter? A book, a mouse pad, a poster, or WHAT?

It's a scan of the back of a book, I think. I found it on the internet. Don't look at it too long or you may go blind!
Hey, wait a minute. If you're blind, then it would be easier to audition speakers... Hmmm....

Well, it's got an ISBN, so theoretically, we could track down which book it is. Hey, I'm bored right now....
5 minutes later... Well, it seems that it doesn't exist, according to 3 or 4 websites I checked. Hmm.... Edited by kcarlile (07/28/03 12:26 AM)

Yup, the book does exist but of course it's in Japanese. My verbatim translation of the title reads like: "The eye trickers 2: Magical illustrations activate your brain and refresh your mind." Basically, the entire book is a collection of illustrations inducing optical/visual illusions. Here are several of the many web pages the author of the book has created:
http://psywww.human.metro-u.ac.jp/sakusi/motion/motion.html http://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/index-e.html I also found out that the author and I apparently graduated from the same university in Tsukuba, Japan, around the same year (different departments, though). He now teaches psychology in a college in Tokyo. |

Where did you look it up? I figured that ISBN directories should list everything, even if it isn't in the language you're looking in.

I went to the web site of one of the largest book stores in Japan (www.kinokuniya.co.jp), and searched on the ISBN.
