I keep saying I have seen it all (interconnets, power cables, speaker wire, vibration disks, funny ink on the ouside of CD's, directional fuses), but now I have really seen it all.

I simply can't stop laughing at this. Who in their right mind would even come up with this crap, yet alone buy it.

Seen it before. That's my favorite piece of overpriced audio equipment, bar none.

What the hail is C37 btw? Sounds like some kind of explosive.

Adrian, C37 is the special patented process which is responsible for $484 of the $485 cost.

Edit: okay I bothered to google it, and here's the rather nonsensical description for C37 lacquer.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Holy crap. This guy wants me to paint lacquer all over my speakers, electronic components and cds? Then wait 10 weeks to hear a difference?

Perhaps it was on page two, but the seller of this stuff obviously missed an opprtunity to have me varnish my earlobes on a regular basis.

I can see applying something to paper cones to make them more rigid??

For string instruments, like the violin, there have been numerous debates and studies on the difference in tonal quality with changes in varnish.

I know my tonal qualities change after a good varnishing.

Thing is, that makes sense, since the body of the violin is something you want to resonate, something that HAS to resonate to make the sound of the instrument. If your preamp is resonating, dude, you've got a problem!
