This a copy of my reply to "MtnBkr" in the previous thread. I wanted to make sure it wasn't lost in a sea of flame:

Quote: "I can see this has degenerated into a flame war.

I seriously doubt "MtnBkr" is just a Streem shill who was waiting around here for me to find him. I know I'm no shill. That means the reviews on Audioreview must be correct. Streem is a paying sponsor on Audioreview's Web site. That means Audioreview must have some degree of confidence in the company.

All in all, this was HIGHLY educational. I'm glad I posted. Thanks to "MtnBkr" for the honest advice in a sea of flame warriors.

"Buyer's Remorse" Strikes Again!!!! For all the Axiom owners who turned this into a flame war, get a life. You failed to represent your brand well. I gave you a chance, but you failed miserably. Goodbye.

Thanks again to "MtnBkr." I appreciate the help. Please register on Audioreview to post your FULL review. There are only a small number of Streem reviews right now, so I didn't know if I could trust them. Thanks again.

I knew I would get a lot of biased opinions around here. I'm not stupid. I was hoping there would be one "MtnBkr" in the herd, and was rewarded.

You rock, dude! Thank You!!"

Safe travels, "MarkB"! Or is it "MtnBkr"? Or "MarknBkr"? Whichever you prefer. As if anyone here is buying this obviously staged pile of crap.

Let me be the first to ask that we not give this ridiculousness any more attention than it deserves... none.

The bottle of Jack is not for buyers remorse, it's used as an accelerant. When these poor souls get home and realize what they have done, the first thing they do is burn there speakers and Jack is there to make sure they go up in a nice ball of flames............

I've been gone for quite awhile and just finished reading that whole "Streem" thread. What a hoot!

MarkB...you had me going for awhile. I actually thought you were a guy looking to buy some new speakers for awhile. But unless you're the most gullible person on Earth, you're falling for "MtnBkr"'s post hook, line, and sinker is just too much to believe.

Great entertainment though. Thanks!

Ha! If we have the balls! Oh man that's great. Cause you know, it takes serious gonads to type "Streem" into Google and click a few links.

Here's my research: Not one professional review. Not ONE. The only reviews you find are little customer blurbs from people whose previous speakers included Sony, JBL, Bose and Yamaha (real cream of the crop stuff!). It's not exactly difficult to beat that kind of sound.

The only reseller who carries them is Station Street, which carries other stellar brands like....um....History of Music Bookshelf speakers (that actually look like books, oooh!), and Audio Research (one little satellite speaker). In other words, Station Street is basically a Radio Shack.

So in summary, not one reputable audio source carries or has reviewed these speakers. Couple that with the already mentioned lack of physical address or phone number, and that's all the research I need to do.

.....And let's not forget that even those reviews are bogus. Streem likes to give everyone a "special gift" for writing positive reviews. In other words, they pay people to BS.

I get paid too - and I didn't even review them! $20/post. I hear peter gets paid like this too, we just keep it from you normal posters.

I read through the thread. If you don't praise that brand's questionable nature - you're an Axiom shill. How mature. They didn't give an address or phone addy, in addition to not having -/+ 3 dB ratings next to the frequency response. And the "weaknesses" on the audioreview site were identical for three reviews. The only person in that thread going on the offensive was the person who got kickbacks for giving the speakers a good review. And we think they're shady - I wonder why.

You want to buy from them. The beginning of that thread looks like you're convincing us of why we should convince you into buying them. You want to buy them, yet want to have people give you validation for buying them - just BUY them if you wish to do so, so badly! No reason for headaches when people tell you they look like a shady brand. Or just go someplace where people will give you their utmost sincere validation for buying them. Trolling here for that purpose is useless.

Giving an opinion is one thing, even if it's completely uninformed. Lying out of your a-- is another. I expected many biased opinions here, but I did not expect a bald-faced liar.

For those who are wondering why I did a quick 180 after NeverHappy's post, and then another after MtnBkr, here's why.

MtnBkr's post reads like every other Streem customer review I've read so far, i.e., glowingly positive. Since I initially didn't think NeverHappy was lying, for a while I didn't think those AudioReview posts could be trusted. But now it's quite obvious to me who can be trusted and who can't.

Like many others, there was a part of me that thought that Streem's prices and reviews were too good to be true. I was a bit skeptical. So I came here to see if anyone had heard both brands and could HONESTLY compare them.

Finding MtnBkr has put any of my previous suspicions regarding Streem to rest. Streem is a real, quality company. It is a paying sponsor of AudioReview. All customer reviews of their products that I've found so far (on several sites) are remarkably posititive.

The ONLY dissenting voice I've come across so far as to Streem's audio quality is NeverHappy. And his opinion is so far out of line with every other I've found that it's impossible he told the truth. MtnBkr was right in that regard. I now have all the "validation" I need. Streem will likely get my first audition.

That said, I know Axiom makes an excellent product, most likely superior to Streem's. Cost aside, I'm sure the Epic 80 would outperform the HT-808. The question that I had was, "which is the better value?" In that regard, from everything truthful I've read, the answer is "Streem" -- hands down.

Case closed.

MarkB, I try to ignore trolls. But your petulant, illogical accusations are sufficiently perverse that I cannot hold my tongue. You are WAY out of line here. It is plain that members of this forum are unable and/or unwilling to validate your opinions, so please excuse yourself unless you have something positive to offer.

If you'd take the time to read Streem's reviews on AudioReview, Audioholics and any other site you can find, you'll quickly learn my so-called "petulance" is dead-on accurate.

Since I seem to be the only person around here who has actually taken the time to do so, naturally I value my opinion on the subjects of Axiom vs. Streem and who lied vs. who didn't more than your own. Do your homework first, then throw some big words around. Not bass-ackwards.

Hi guys. I don't get here as much as I'd like, but I just wandered into this thread and ran across the discourse.

Quite a performance by this putz MarkB (or whatever other name he comes in with before or after this go around). Looks to me like his interest isn't in audio - just trolling. Given that conclusion (I'm sure to be followed by a clever, snappy reply from the antichrist himself) it would appear to be prudent to simply stop posting in response to his idiocy and move on. I, for one, won't revisit this thread.

You'll note if you look back through this thread I've said nothing about Streem speakers. I know better. If I've not heard them, I can't say their bad. Which if you'll note, most everyone here is the same. Our concerns have always been the lack of address, lack of phone number, and lack of professional reviews. Should we appologize for our concern for you? We didn't want to see you getting taken for a ride.

As much as I would like to respond to your immature attempts at prolonging the life of this cheap attempt at publicity, I will refrain. You are making me look better then I ever could. Have you ever thought to yourself why I need to lie about Streem? If you have an answer, please keep it to yourself as I really don't give a rats ass what you think. Why exactly does Streem need to pay people for positive reviews? This one I know. If they left it up to people they have not bribed, the reviews would be less then glowing.

You came here on day one with very clear intentions and that was to try and promote a cheap ass speaker. Just come clean. Everybody here has seen through it......

Carry on and keep up the good work.

Just curious, but does anyone else think that MarkB and MtnBkr are really the same person? The names are somewhat similar, especially the way they have them capitolized. I'm going to wager a guess that he/they are responsible for a majority of the "positive" reviews on Audioreview.

Just my $0.02. (US, not CAN)

Frankly, I'm not certain. It's possible that MarkB is a just a rude ass sucker. MtnBkr is most certainly a shill/troll for Streem.

I'm sorry we ever tried to help you, MarkB. But that's the kind of people we are. We don't like seeing people ripped off. Try asking us about Bose some time. Then you can call us trolls again. In the mean time, go find someone else's carpet to sh*t on.

Do you mean that he is a sucker and also rude-ass (or is a rude ass)? Or that he is rude and he also sucks ass? Or both?

I'm assuming the former, because if he sucks ass I imagine his mouth would water uncontrollably at the thought of getting a few gorilla ports for his home. Although, perhaps that's why he seems to want shitty speakers so badly.

I didn't really notice that until you brought it up (maybe I need to take the personality test all over again!). It is quite possible.

The whole thread has been fascinating in that weird sort of 'passing by an accident or a street fight' sort of way!

This guy obviously gets a kick out of prolonging the whole argument (if you can call it that).

This forum seems to get these types of idiots at least once a month. Recently we had Tech_pro and Pro_Tech, gee I wonder if these two were one in the same? Now we have MikeB and MtnBkr, same letters in uppercase and coincidental that MtnBkr actually heard the Streem speakers in the nick of time if you will. Must be the only owner of these ‘awesome’ speakers.
Anyway, we should’ve snuffed this blaze at the beginning. I must admit that it’s kind of fun watching this crap, I’m guilty for allowing myself to fuel the fire. I guess it’s like watching Jerry Springer it’s very stupid but stimulates the barbaric side of us.

I think ABBA needs to Hi Jack this thread again.

First let me apologise for posting in this thread. I'm fairly sure that most here want to see it gone. I will be brief and to the point. I will be posting here and in the other thread that deals with this subject. (Same post)

First things first.

I happen to be the owner of the Streem speakers John (NeverHappy) was making reference to in these forums. I have a pair and he has heard them on numerous occasions at my cabin. Calling him a liar is uncalled for and to be blunt, stupid, childish, moronic, and a whole lot of other words that I'm sure you MarkB aka MtnBkr or vice versa would not be able to comprehend..... so I will spare you the trouble of digging out your copy of "Words For Dummies". Yep, you got it, John won't take shots at you but I got no problem doing it although I feel bad. So far everyone you have taken on here has given it back ten fold and your responses, well are lacking.

I purchased these speakers for a spare room I have in my house. My plan was to set something up for my teenage son but after hearing them, that quickly changed. Even my 14 year old didn't want to keep them. Yes they are in fact that bad. The only reason I still have them is because I needed something at my cabin that was low cost due to the high number of break and enters in and around our lake. I will not lose any sleep if I do happen to be vandalized and they are taken.

I won't bore anyone with details on what makes these speakers not worth the time of day as John got it right with his analogy on mid 80's speakers. He can also explain it far better then I can. I buy stuff and have it for years. John seems to have a new system every 6 months. It seems to be an addiction to some extent.

What is with the two names anyway MarkB aka MtnBkr , Identity crisis? Compensating perhaps? Are you one of those little boy's who's mommy didn't breast feed you long enough? Perhaps to long? Perhaps she hasn't stopped? It's clear that you are in fact one in the same. If not and there are two of you out there who think like this, GOD help us all!

John, buddy, please don't be pissed I posted here but the BS this clown was throwing at you was a joke. If anyone has any problems with me defending John against this fool, sorry but it had to be done.

Oh, that's cute. The "Cabin Guy" now suddenly shows up. And NeverHappy just coincidentally notices and posts right underneath him. LOL!!! I guess he didn't like being taken to task for his B.S. Anyone who doesn't know whom to believe now is just an idiot.

But you're right. I'm just a shill, a troll, a troglodyte. Whatever you want to call me. You need a thick skin to mention another brand on a company Web site. Fortunately, I have one.

I knew my original post would cause more heat than light. I knew that 95% of the replies I received would be worthless, and they sure were.

For those who were sincere, I appreciate the help. Unfortunately, you were swamped by a herd of trolls that just happen to be Axiom customers. I guess good brands don't make for good people. Fortunately for me, "MtnBkr" is a real Streem customer, and he and I are not the same person. Wherever you are, I thank you again, even if you didn't have the cojones to follow-up more than once. That's all right. I have enough for both of us.

Anyone who cares about audio, and not just shilling for his particular brand, can find out more about Streem on Audioreview, Audioholics or ecoustics.com. There you will find real reviews by real customers, not make-believe nonsense.

If you just want to B.S. and talk about beer and B-B-Q, then you don't have to go anywhere else. You're right at home here.

LOL!!!

You got way to much free time there buddy! First I'm a liar and now like you, I'm two people in one. COOL!

This is the only thing that is starting to piss me off a little. Why do you keep ignoring the fact that I have Monitor Audios? Is it to big a sentence for you to take in all at once?

Like I said, keep up the good work as you have no idea how much fun this is turning out to be. Best part is, I don't have to do squat, you do it all for me!!!

One more thing there skippy, please stop pushing those speakers.........it's embarrassing. As for the reviews, give us all a break already and get over it.

In case no one notices, "The Cabin Guy" and "NeverHappy" posted within 16 minutes of one another. That should tell you they're one in the same. And I saved a copy on my browser in case he tries to delete it now and deny "The Cabin Guy" ever posted. That won't work. You're busted.

Isn't it funny how they both have the same 10-year-old grammar? LOL!!

Dude, you were doing a lot better when you just kept your mouth shut and let the other trolls fight your battles for you! You just gave your game away!!

Or he called his friend up and said "hey, look at this [censored]."

The forums have been perfect until you arrived, and nobody but you agrees with you. You're the troll, kiddo. The whole "LOOK AT THESE SPEAKS SHOULD I GET THEM WHY NOT??? YOU MUST BE SHILL!!!" act is retarded. You ask us what we think of a shady company, we tell you, and you go apeshit when we don't agree with all of EIGHT user reviews(a few probably written by the same person). I can almost see you jumping for joy in front of your monitor after seeing that we thought they were a shady company, since it gives you the chance to be the hero activist who reveals all of us paid, lying, shills for who we really are.

Yeah, we're all lying about the speakers we've had, have now, and will lie as much as we can to steal your money. We're so much worse than the company that won't even put their number or addy on the website.

You're a friggin' joke.

Hey MikeB/MtnBkr,

You keep mentioning how there are good reviews over at audioreview and that they're a paying sponsor, as if this somehow sets them apart.

Well, Axiom is a paying sponsor and also has lots of good reviews there. In fact, Axiom is even in the showcase, and when I went over there just a few minutes ago, they had the top banner on the page. And on audioreview's list of hot picks, Axiom has 4 speakers on the list for mains, including the #1 (M80) and #3 (M60) spots. Streem is nowhere on the list. Let's also compare #s. Axiom has 253 reviews, compared to Streems 28 (5 of which are verbatim from the Streem review page). So if you're trying to say that audioreview is proof of Streem's legitimacy, then surely Axiom is far better in that regard.

But the over-riding issue is that the vast majority of Streem reviews mention that their previous speakers were in the low-end range - aka JBL, Pioneer, Sony, Bose - the type of stuff you see in Best Buy and Circuit City. Now I'm sure these do compare favorably to those speakers (heck one of the customer reviews even goes out and says "I would compare these to the high-end speakers of stores like Best Buy or Circuit City") but it really doesn't take much to compare well with those kind of speakers.

Sure, you might save $400 over Axiom by going with Streem, and maybe if you're not that critical of a listener then it's a good move, but until you hear both Axioms (which several people have offered to arrange) and Streems, it doesn't seem wise to basically proclaim Streems as value of the year.

But then you're a troll, so what does it matter?

1) I never knocked Axiom. Neither its product nor the company.

2) Just because Streem doesn't have a lot of reviews doesn't mean it sucks.

3) Only one reviewer compared Streem to high end stuff at Circuit City. Others said it compared quite favorably to (or bested) Paradigm's lower end stuff and Infinity. Reviews are bound to vary in that respect. Many didn't compare it to other brands at all. And the lowest score they got for sound quality was 4 out of 5 stars. Many, if not most, gave them 5 out of 5. How many low-end JBL, Sony or Bose reviews have you read with 5 out of 5 stars? I haven't found any except perhaps a couple of misfits. I read the review for a Bose center channel the other day that consistently trashed its quality. It averaged 2-3 stars at best. So there are people out there who know what good sound is.

That seems to have ticked a few people off. It shouldn't when you keep in mind that value decreases exponentially with price. Often with higher end speakers, you pay a LOT more for an ever decreasing improvement in sound quality.

Since I haven't heard either, I'm going strictly by reviews. HONEST reviews, that is. As I said, I have yet to read a review that trashes Streem's sound quality besides NeverHappy, and he's just exposed himself as a fraud. So I'm sticking to that assessment. I don't really expect or need anyone else on this board to like it. I didn't come here to placate other people's ego's. This is my research, pure and simple.

The question is, "Do Axiom's sound 3-4 times better than Streem's as their prices would demand?" At this point I seriously doubt it.

1) I never said you did.

2) You are right, but when given the choice between a speaker company A which has tons of positive reviews (both customer and professional), a readily available phone number and physical address, and speaker company B, which has only a few (albeit positive) reviews and no available phone number or address, can you see why most of us default to speaker company A?

3) I concede the possibility that Streems do compare well with or best JBL, Sony and Bose offerings (I would also add lnfinity's lower end into that category). As for the 4 and 5 of 5 for sound, well, if they're coming from the low end and meet something that sounds better, then yes, they're going to be impressed with the sound.

What I'd really like to see (and I'm almost tempted to try out the 30 day return feature myself) is a comparison between Streem and gear that's clearly above the mass market group. Maybe a Streem/Axiom shootout in the future.

Another question could be "Do Streems compare at a level close enough to Axioms to warrant their purchase?" Whether or not Axioms reflect an exact increase in performance according to increase in price is incidental.

Lets say that there's a certain level of performance that you desire/need in a speaker. Let's say that Speaker A meets or exceeds that level. Now lets say that you come across a Speaker B that is merely 1/3rd the price of Speaker A, but upon listening to it just doesn't reach that necessary level of performance. Now if we were somehow able to objectively measure the difference in performance and find that Speaker A is in fact only twice as good as Speaker B and not 3 times, it still doesn't matter because Speaker B doesn't reach the level of performance you need.

Now if Speaker B does meet that level of performance, then we have a really great value. Who knows, maybe Streem is that value, but I'm a bit skeptical.

In reply to:

MarkB:Streem's get rave reviews on their site. So do Axiom's. Has anyone here compared the two manufacturers? If so, please give me the lowdown.

In reply to:

BBIBH:One thing that might help would be to audition Axioms (check the thread in general for someone in your area

Good advice!

In reply to:

MarkB:I'd rather not audition someone else's Axioms unless I know that person.

Rejected!

In reply to:

tleigh:I think the reviews that the Axioms have should be able to convince anyone.
Either way, I hope you will be happy with whatever you decide on.

In reply to:

BBIBH:You make valid points, and are using good judgement.

In reply to:

littleb:I would have to say that the Streem 808's, from the description alone, seem to be a lot of speaker for $500 a pair. Mark, before you buy I would suggest that you look into how easy it would be to return these monsters if you don't like them. Axiom's don't cost a bundle to return.

In reply to:

tomtuttle:First, all of the reviews I could find on Streem were by consumers, not by any trade journals or professional reviewers. Now, a satisfied customer base can be very compelling, but it would be nice to have SOME impartial validation...But the question you should be asking is, how do I figure out what is the best speaker for me for the amount of money I'm willing to spend? I just don't have enough data about Streem to feel comfortable, and the complete lack of company information on their website doesn't make me feel good either. I mean, there isn't even a phone number there!

In reply to:

MarkB:I don't know if I can trust the reviews on Audioreview. If all you ever owned were a cheap pair of Sony's or JBL's, just about anything will sound good to you...I don't just want good sound. I want GREAT sound...Infinity Beta-50's have gotten rave reviews on Audioreview, but when I listened to them in a local chain store, they failed to shine...Some of the reviewers on Audioreview are knowledgeable and state that Streem offers almost unheard of "bang for the buck" in the often over-priced speaker world. I'm just looking for independent confirmation of that fact before I give them a shot.

In reply to:

md55:My guess is that you may get pretty good speakers for a pretty good price, but not great speakers for a really good price.

In reply to:

MarkB:That's exactly my worry.

In reply to:

ringmir:I would recommend auditioning the axioms, even if it is a little strange.

More good advice!

In reply to:

HAY:Hey MarkB, I posted a similar question about the same Streem speakers here a couple months ago for a friend who was interested in them.

Long story short, we tried to get a hold of someone from Streem to no avail and couldn't get enough info on them...Good luck in your search and post either way you decide. Who knows, you could be one of the first to find the next great buy (streem) as we all were with axioms to our friends.

In reply to:

MarkB:O.K.! O.K.! If you live in the Cincinnati area, I'll listen to your damn speakers!!

In reply to:

mhorgel:I live in Louisville, only 90 miles or so down the road, and you can come and listen to my speakers.

An offer that you can't refuse!

In reply to:

MarkB:(silence)

In reply to:

Wid:It seems to me you are looking for someone here to legitimize your decision to buy the Streem speakers.

A valid observation, since you rejected all our help.

In reply to:

MarkB:Don't worry. They're real. Read these reviews of their HT-808 system by satisfied customers on Audioreview.com...When some people find out they may not have gotten the "deal of the century" they get a little edgy. It's called "buyer's remorse." Deal with it...I don't seek, nor need, anyone's validation. I'm perfectly capable of making up my own mind. I was only seeking additional information, and I knew some people around here would not be capable of impartiality.

So now you trust the Audioreview reviews?

In reply to:

Wid:Nobody is saying the Sreem might not be a good deal, after all $600 for 5 speakers.Remmember if it sounds to go to be true, well you know the rest of that story.

In reply to:

neverhappy:A buddy of mine has a set of RW-500's that he bought for home use. After 2 weeks they ended up out at his cottage. That should tell you a little something right there. They are an entry level speaker with questionable customer support and average build quality.

Finally! What you asked for! Someone with some first hand knowledge! He doesn't even own Axioms!

In reply to:

MarkB:Without having first heard them you can't comment on what level the Streem's are on. Entry level? Not from what I've read so far. JBL RW-500's can't hang with these...(LONG sales pitch for streem omitted)

After reading this post, all I could think is that you were kidnapped and brainwashed by the Streem manufacturers.

In reply to:

wid:Most people here just don't want to see you get ripped off.The point of this whole thread was to find someone that has heard the Streem speakers and you have,Neverhappy has and you didn't read what he actually said.

Another valid observation.

In reply to:

MarkB:Some of the FS-808 reviews on Audioreview also appear of Streem's "customer reviews" page VERBATIM...I think you smelled it out. Nice going, dog...Streem was an illusion built on that obsession which in turn was built on my frustration. That dream is dead now. Sniff. :-( That's the bad news.

Now you DON'T trust the audioreview reviews.

In reply to:

MtkBkr:I got a link in my email this morn from my friend (an Axiom owner) about this Streem thread...this is Axiom's message board most assuredly staffed by Axiom's friendly staff...this NeverHappy person is out and out lying...in appreciation for an honest, unbiased review on AudioReview.com they have offered select customers, including me, a bonus gift...You wanted an opinion from someone that has heard both Axiom and Streem speakers so here I am.

What Axiom speakers did you listen to, MtnBkr? Who contacted you? Why does Streem have to pay their customers to post favorable reviews? Most of all, MarkB, why do you trust this newcomer when several established members of this board have tried to help you?

In reply to:

MarkB:I seriously doubt "MtnBkr" is just a Streem shill who was waiting around here for me to find him. I know I'm no shill. That means the reviews on Audioreview must be correct.

Huh? Because one newbie shows up conveniently out of the blue to give a good streem review that validates the audioreview.com reviews you said you didn't believe before? This makes no sense.

Now you trust the Audioreview reviews again.

In reply to:

MarkB:Streem is a paying sponsor on Audioreview's Web site. That means Audioreview must have some degree of confidence in the company.

Axiom is also a sponsor, and they have 20 times the number of reviews that Streems have.

In reply to:

MarkB:Thanks to "MtnBkr" for the honest advice in a sea of flame warriors.

Far from being a sea of flame warriors, we offered you kind suggestions, and even the hospitality of our homes for you to listen to our speakers. You asked for help, it was given, and you were argumentative and contrary at every turn.
This did not degrade to flaming until MtnBkr called neverhappy a liar. It is quite impolite to call an established member of a message board a liar with your first post.

In reply to:

MarkB:For all the Axiom owners who turned this into a flame war, get a life. You failed to represent your brand well.

Read the above quotes again...we were helpful, polite, and hospitable to you until you rejected every helpful idea we gave you.

In reply to:

MarkB:Thanks again to "MtnBkr." I appreciate the help. Please register on Audioreview to post your FULL review. There are only a small number of Streem reviews right now, so I didn't know if I could trust them.

So, despite the 20 to 1 review advantage of Axiom over Streem, the fact that half the Streem reviews were taken verbatum from their website, despite the fact that the only person who responded to you who heard both Streem and Axiom said the Streems were mediocre (MtnBkr never said he heard Axioms), you are going to take the word of one anonymous newbie over all of ours. Pardon us for wondering what you are thinking.

Mark

Note: If Streem asks its customers who e-mail with praise to do the same on Audioreview, that explains the double posts. Nothing wrong with that. Perfectly legit. Even if they offer them a free gift.

If anyone's wondering what the hell just happened here. Let me recap.

NeverHappy's "review" didn't jibe with the posts on Audioreview or the ones at Streem's site at all. I couldn't square the two. Since I didn't believe at first that someone would just straight-up lie to me here, initially I thought Streem could be just a scam. I was ready to report them to Audioreview.

That is, until I checked the board once again and found "MtnBkr's" post. Then I put 2 + 2 together. I found more reviews on Streem -- ALL very positive -- and their products all over the Net. So I knew right there that NeverHappy had lied. So I decided to turn my wrath on him and any flamer who decided to get in my way. Justifiably, I might add.

MtnBkr saved me from quite a little embarrassing episode if I had decided to report Streem (incorrectly) to AudioReview. No we are NOT the same person. Sorry, you all were wrong. NeverHappy is the fraud, not me.

MtnBkr was right in one respect. I had no business ever thinking I could get an objective review here. You are without a doubt the biggest bunch of losers and outright liars I have ever found on the Net, with only a few notable exceptions, who are in the distinct minority.

I no longer give a damn about your opinions on Streem or anything else for that matter. Go back to talking about beer and B-B-Q. That is more in line with your collective intelligence level. I'm out of here.

So long, morons!!!!!!

Buy the damn speakers already and then tell us what you think! Even better, if you're so confident they're worth the money, but a pair of them, then buy an Axiom pair at the same price (for example, M22s). Then do a review. Otherwise, shut the hell up!

That's all I was looking for here. Only MtnBkr was qualified to let us all know, and he was chased away by the trolls. He stood up for Streem's quality, but he never offered a head-to-head comparison.

Almost everyone besides him has been either a moron or a scam artist, so there's no need for me to stick around here any longer.

Uh, why was MtnBkr qualified to know more than NeverHappy? NH has done quite a few speaker comparisons... MtnBkr is a complete unknown.

Wow, I was just thinking... you must have an incredible ego if you think that these boards are set up to snow you into buying stuff. Do you think that the employees at Axiom have enough time to create a board with over 30000 fake posts, complete with totally different writing styles, pictures, opinions, etc... The politics thread alone should tell you this place is for real. Jeez, man...

The best news is that idiot (MarkB) is now gone. Well, at least he said he was and I can't believe he would ever say something that was not true!!

It WAS an entertaining thread!

Ah, BBQ! Well Tom Cumberland, Axiom Engineer and now Canadian, has spent the summer teaching us to learn to love Sonny's BBQ sauce. Has anyone had it? I think it's from a BBQ Rib joing in Florida. Somehow, they manage to get about 12 tablespoons of sugar into a 3 tablespoon serving!!

I have visions or Amie hiding under her desk with a blanket over her head! .

Of course he's not gone. How many times has he said "that's it, I'm outa here," only to return like a bad case of hives. His purpose is to irritate you and, while doing so, promote Streem speakers. My advice is to simply ignore him, making no replies whatsoever. Nothing will aggravate him more. Except, of course, the purchase of Streem speakers.

LOL! I'm in love with this woman.

I'm very angry with you, Amie, for marrying Ian without giving me a chance first. I mean, outside of youth; health; wit; charm; good looks; and wealth; what's he got that I haven't?

However, this thread is starting to get on my nerves. Please dude , buy whatever speakers you want and stop your pointless posts. ::breath:: ::gasp::

CHRIST!! I leave for a few days in the hopes that MarkB will go away and I come back to this. I thought that, with my help, we moved onto bashing ABBA and other steller bands. MarkB, do me a favor, go to ANY other audio site (AV123.com, Outlawaudio.com) to name a few nice sites and try your little Streem talk there. I know, I know, us Axiom people are just down right rude and don't know what we are talking about so PLEASE LEAVE and try your double talk somewhere else! If you are into audio and are concerned with not throwing away your $$ then listen rather then type. This is a site to support, not bash. From the time you first posted you could have had your "amazing" streem speakers already in you house, so again, GO AWAY, buy your speakers and get back to us.

Untill then I will leave everyone with a great tune to think on, "I think we're alone now" by the oh so famous Tiffany. Now I know that one will stick in eveyones head. HA. Revenge is mine!

Does anyone have home theater leather seating? My wife and I are thinking about getting a 3 row and was wondering if they "work" in a room. The only issue I think we may have is the lack of a sofa to lay down on. Thoughts?

Wow! Step away for a day and look what happens...

btw, I just happened over to the Who's Online link last night before I shut everything down and saw Mr. MtnBkr reading the thread. Not that it means anything, other than the guy can't seem to get enough of this place. It's weird how some people get their kicks (at least MtnBkr, aka MarkB).

Pretty high odds he'll be back. It will take him weeks to get bored of this, to our misfortune.

I remember The Great American Hero vaguely. i really liked the show, but I was pretty little. I think I can live a full and happy life without watching the insipid antics of the Brady Bunch. I'd rather watch Hogan's Heros or something...

Absolutely.

Hey, speaking of insipid '70's theme song music, is there anything worse than "Looove Boat..." Ugh. Just the mention of '70's sitcoms brings that stupid song back lack a bad case of MarkB.

I threw together some BBQ sauce once. Just kind of winged it, so I don't know exactly what I put in it, but it was mostly molasses, honey, brown sugar, and some spices. It turned out surprisingly good.

spiff - how ya been?? Sounds like work keeps getting in your face too. The only improvement I might suggest to your sauce is a bit of habanero based hot sauce. Of course, I love the stuff and put it on everything. Except ice cream.

Wow, I had full intentions of not looking at this thread again and I see 79 responses after my last visit. Succumbing to curiosity, I came back in. Good to see the putz is gone. For the life of me, I don't know why we keep responding to/feeding idiots like that. The quickest way to get rid of them is to stop posting in the thread. They are NOT interested in reason of any type.

Whew! Now I'm hungry.

Yes indeed, work has been a bear lately. I've begun to do some fx work now in addition to my previous jobs. If you go see the IMAX film "Mysteries of the Nile" you'll see my very first fx work. Nothing mind blowing, but it was a lot of work (especially for a guy with no training in the field!)

I can't remember what I put in my sauce. It was a spur of the moment, little bit of this, little bit of that kind of deal. I was just pretty shocked that it actually turned out pretty darn tasty.

That was great. I'm having childhood flashbacks of playing with my "Action Figure" Steve Austin in the backyard in San Bernardino in the late 70s. My sister of course had Jamie Summers. I felt my toy was better because I got a rocket ship I could shoot into space.
Of course I lost my implants before she lost hers... Damn my lack of attention!

yes I am actually looking through ebay right now for my childhood toys...

No offense to Axiom, but I am not here to represent them.

I love my (their) speakers, and I enjoy the tips and advice that I find here.

I hope you like your Steems as well as I like my Axioms. It makes me comfortable knowing that they will answer the phone when I call. Not publishing a phone number just means that they don't want to talk to you after they take your money.

The place is coming along nicely. The latest drama is getting the stairs redone in hardwood. We bought the wood two weeks ago, and when we did, we were given a price of aprox. $500-550 to have it installed. After calling numerous installers, the lowest price I've been quoted is $1150. Needless to say we're not happy. Grrr....

Amie- That's hilarious that you guys had Sonny's BBQ sauce. What part of Florida did Tom get it from?

If you're in Naples, my hometown, you've got to try Michelbob's for the best BBQ around.

http://michelbobs.com/

The place is award winning. Be sure to check out the list of their accomplishments and awards they've won throughout the years. And they ship their ribs and/or sauce around the world, too, if you guys up in Canada got hungry to try them. I highly recommend them over Sonny's. Not that Sonny's is bad, of course, just that Michelbobs is the best I think I've ever had.

Enjoy-
Kevin

Oh, and Hogan would be shacked up with Hilda (or is it Helga?) somewhere while Mr. T was standing around wondering where they went.

The six million dollar man song made my day. I needed that. I think I had one of those stupid "remember when" smiles on my face. NICE work. Not sure if anyone had it but I had the Six Million Dollar Man action figure that you could look though his eye. Classic toy. About the size of the old, large GI Joes. I think I may have to find that one

Question. Right now I am running QS4's. I just moved into a house that has a large TV room. Worth upgrading to the QS8 or am I ok with the 4's. Room is about 22 x 30. Have the Axiom 60's, and Outlaw Audio Sub, QS4's and a nice center that no one has heard of.

What is this? A real question in this thread??

I say you'll probably be happier with the QS8s, but unless you feel the QS4s are lacking there's no reason to trade up.

Oooh.. You are so far off topic.

But seeing how you asked, you could move the QS4's the back and get QS8's for the side surround.

It's because Battlestar Gallactica really sucked. Very simple. A very cheap knockoff of Star Wars.

Sometimes cheesy has its own charm. Lost in Space. Or Space:1999.

Land of the lost! Loved that show as a kid. And, all those Sid and Marty Kroft shows (which you can apparently get on video now). Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, Electro Woman and Dyangirl, HR Puffnstuff (yeah, what's he smokin, that picolo?), Witcheypoo, etc. Although I HATED that New Zoo Revue, that Doug was a little too effeminate for me, even as a kid...

spiff, when your car needs fixin', do you buy the parts and take them to the repair shop? sometimes what seems the least expensive turns out to be the most expensive.

In fact I quite often buy the parts myself and bring them to the repair shop.

But the point isn't that it's expensive. The point is we were told $550, and it's double that.

No problem at all. Let us know if you guys choose to have some Michelbob's shipped out to you there at work. I'd be curious to know what you guys thought of it compared to Sonny's. I like them both, but I think my heart belongs to Michelbob's simply because they're from my hometown.

Plus, they put an addictive ingredient in their sauce, just like how Col. Sanders does with his chicken, that makes you crave it fortnightly. Oooo... I hate the Colnel, with his wee beady eyes and smug look on his face- "Oh you're gonna buy my chicken!"

Sorry, I got lost there in thought for a second...

WOW, i think this post has officially been nominated for the "never ending, completely useless thread" award.. ?

someone mentioned the "love boat", how can you not give a shout to 'fantasy island'.. i dont remember the theme music, but how can you forget, "THE PLANE, THE PLANE"..

and someone mentioned saturday mornings.... does anyone remember the show "SHAZAM"!!! he was like this dean cain look alike, that drove around in a winnebago, looking for people that needed a superhero.. then, with a trusty shout of "SHAZAM", and a bolt of lightening, he turns into a superman type, with a red/orange/yellow suit. my memory is a little fuzzy, but i thought that show was cool..

and the sanford and son intro was the $hit.. i loved that old scratch-box guitar sound.

Ok ok I’m a troll Bose is not the best. I am actually looking to upgrade my main speakers and wanted to find out more about axiom products and how they might compare to other manufactures lines.

But instead I wasted 30 minuets of my life reading this thread. Except for the beer part of course.

Anyway, I have just started my search and was wondering how the M80Ti might compare to the Linn Ninka or the B&W 703 or 4.

I have no personal experience with any of the speakers you mentioned. But, it often has been said, here on the forum, that the the M60s, which sound very much like the M80s (the 80s are able to play a little deeper and louder), are tonally very similar to the B&W 703s, at one third the price.

Hopefully, others will confirm or deny this.

Ok somewhere in between a B&W 703 and a Bose 201v. I guess that’s what I get for being a thread hijacker.

I would guess that the Bose v201 is a joke... Pretty much everyone who has compared the 703s has said that the M60s are equivalent at a much lower cost, and the M80s are often said to be equivalent to the M60s, with a better bass and power handling.

Feel free to hijack threads. Especially ones like this!

Umm… My last post is missing I must have not have submitted it be for I disconnected.

Anyway a speaker that sounds as god as a 703 at a $800 is a good combination. I will have to figure out how I can listen to a pair.

Don’t be too hard on Bose. I heard a speaker the other day in the $2,500 range the was downright awful. So Bose is not alone in the overpriced underperforming market segment.

No not the same marketing machine but money spent on test markets for gee-whiz looks than on performance.

Currently I have a old pair of Boston VR950 which do a fine job for movies but do not have incredible soundstage and mid range performance of the linns or the detail hr and imaging as the B&W 700 series for music. And of course can not match the thin tin like sound of the bose accuwhateverthing.

Yeah the Bose was a joke. I think they do get more flack than say Polk Audio because they are mostly marketing and little research, plus the lawsuit against Consumer Reports for a bad rating didn't help their cause. (Plus Polk makes some good speakers).

When one of my old Scott speakers ripped from long use I bought some Bose 201v based on Consumer reports recent ratings and my own ignorance and they were not any better than that ten year old $100 each, starting to rip speaker!

I bought some cheap paradigms instead which headed me in the right direction. Now on to Axioms.

How many of you have heard the old Bose 10.2's or for that matter how many have even heard of them? I'm not talking the Acoustamas crap that is out now, I'm talking the big old floor standers they made. I hate Bose as much as the next guy but in the last 10 or so years I have had 2 pairs of 10.2's and I'm telling you they are not bad at all.

You can flame me now! :-)
