Anyone know what the titles under our user names are supposed to represent? Seems as if I'm stuck.

From the "FAQ" section.

" Here is the list of the standard titles and # of posts to achieve them:
0 newbie
5 regular
10 frequent flier
20 hobbyist
30 enthusiast
40 addict
60 old hand
100 veteran
200 local
300 addict

Looks to me like you should be a local.

The one thing that still confuses me, is why would a person with 40 posts have the same title as someone that has achieved 300 posts? "Addict"

Anyway, I still think Axiom needs to revise the naming standard and #'s to achieve those names. I'm sure others will chime in here again and say, "oh no, not another post on this subject"

"hobbyist" is misspelled in the title below the name, implying that people with a certain amount of posts are the "most," what, "hobbied"?

Maybe when we figure out new names for everybody, we can fix the spelling.

Meant to respond to this by the way:

>"hobbyist" is misspelled in the title below the name, implying that people with a certain amount of posts are the "most," what, "hobbied"?

Originally, I had thought it was spelled "hobbiest" and that's what we had for the title. But an intrepid reader noted that it was not the correct spelling. Seriously, check out m-w.com and see!

Amie, you finally caved.
I think that idea on changing the forum titles is one of the longest running and constantly returning suggestions since i've been on the board.
The other recurring suggestions aren't coming to mind right now, but they will!!

Hi Amie;

Whatever you call it; this whole thing is the greatest way of marketing in the whole wide world!!

I've gone to B&Ms and stood there with my own CDs trying to get an idea of what a speaker is gonna sound like in my home, and they never do; No Fun!

I've talked with salespeople-although I'd rather not-what with their varried menu of knowledge, attitudes and agendas; No Fun!

I've considered their mark-up in the stores since the speakers are almost considered a "luxury" item; Really No Fun!!

I've mailed off for literature and rarely received the info requested; No Fun!

Then....

WWW.Wow! This is the way to do something!!

Bounce thru these web sites and read these forums and just go nuts! This is more fun than....Well, you all know what I mean!

So...

Thanks a million, Amie: Great speakers, great service, and lots of fabulous entertainment on-line to boot!

This IS Fun!!
Rich.

that reminds me of the scene in Monsters, Inc. where Mike falls through the door into the room in Paris!
