Jerry, if you are not using a sub then the M3 may indeed be the better choice(if you look at the freq graph it has some bass boost lower down). The M22 would, for many listeners, be the better choice when combined with a sub or for more emphasis in the midrange freq's.

You can always listen to the M3s for a bit, then if you feel you might prefer the M22's, just send the M3's don't pay double on the shipping. They are both good speakers, they are slightly different though. The other scenario that's already been mentioned, is get them both, then keep the ones you prefer. In this case, you would have to pay to ship back the one pair you don't want, but consider it like a rental OR gas money to drive around auditioning other speakers.
