I want to start out by saying that I have absolutely nothing to gain by leaving this review other than I strongly feel that Axiom should have the recognition they rightfully deserve!
I recently (Jan. 2022) upgraded all my audio components and thought - let’s upgrade my 15+ year old Axiom M50ti floor standing speakers that I ordered directly from Axiom back then. There are numerous options available at the $2K price range; however, I was VERY hesitant to replace these M50 speakers. Reluctantly, I ordered a new pair of Wharfedale EVO 4.4 (I paid around $2,400/pair) and I had very high expectations of the new speakers. However, let me honestly tell all that in my personal opinion, my M50ti speakers sounded better than the Wharfedale’s! Don’t get me wrong, the new speakers sounded comparable, but to me, just not as warm sounding, not as tight of a base, and the highs didn’t sound any better than the Axiom M50’s.
As someone else put it… the Axiom’s just sound “right” – and I completely agree. Tight base, but they dig enough that you don’t need a separate subwoofer, the midrange is of a natural warm feeling, and the highs are crisp, clean, and have a smooth, buttery sound.
I sadly sold the M50s… I wish I would have either kept those, or upgraded another step up to what Axiom has to offer… perhaps the M80s... someday.

I bought these m50 v4 about six years ago for music, recently paired them up with new rv4a Yamaha a\v receiver, bi amped. My Kef ls 50 speakers conveniently sit on top of m50's paired with Arcam amp. The Kefs bass cannot touch these Axioms, no need for sub, I love listening to music with these and no ear fatigue!

It is always interesting to compare a speaker’s ability to accurately reproduce simple single instrument pieces, then vocals, and finally complex combinations of instruments and vocals. The M50ti towers reproduced each with a very natural sound. There was no blurring of the instruments with one another or with the vocals. The low frequency response of the towers was such that for some selections the subwoofer added negligible bass response. The M50ti bass sounded tight, with no obvious peaking due to port tuning. The M50ti ‘s would be quite satisfying without the subwoofer for someone who wanted to make their system purchase in stages.

I wanted a bigger quality sound and just upgraded the Axiom speakers I used for 15 years. My first pair of Axioms have been gifted to my son.
