I used to have DirectTv but had to cancel it when I tried to have the HD Dish installed at my apartment and the hd sat was blocked. I switched to cable and have been with cable for a year now. When we moved I decided to stay with cable. I have Time Warner and I think a total of 18 HD channels. I have my phone, internet, and cable all threw them. I have 1 HD DVR box and 1 HD box plus all the channels. For all that its $200.00 a month. Not a bad deal for all that I get in return.
