Sure there are a variety of "generic" brackets available, but essentially all of them, including Axiom's own universal bracket, do require drilling into the back of your QS4's, which you said you didn't like. In contrast, if you use the special bracket that comes with the QS4, there is no need of drilling. I cannot think of a better way of utilizing the included bracket than something like I posted above...
btw, I recently ceiling-mounted my front projection screen in a very similar manner, and it looks much "cleaner" than I thought.
