Although I have never bought an extended warranty and have been very fortunate to never have a piece of electronic equipment fail on me, I think if I was to go out and spend several thousand on some new technology I would consider a warranty.
My problem has always been upgraditis, so I never seem to keep anything for more than a couple years before I upgrade, I guess that's why I have a garage full of used equipment
