Some veteran board members may recall that a few years ago there were rampant rumors about an experimental design for a new M70. Although it was highly confidential at the time, I feel justified in revealing the true facts now to clear up the mystery concerning the gap in the model numbering. The design was fairly far along and Ian sent me one for beta testing, as is shown
here set up in my home. My view was that reproduction of the trombone was especially realistic but that there was definitely too much bass. It's unclear why it didn't enter into full production.
