Here's the definition of liberal that I mean most often when I use it:
liberal (lib'-er-al)
adj.
favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.
In particular, I prefer that people let others do as they please, as long as nobody is getting hurt. Smaller gov't is preferable, and I believe social programs should be handled at the state or community level. But environmental protection (a.k.a. "tree-hugging")
should come from the top down.
And that's all the politics I care to get into right now.
