While wasting time at AVS, I starting zipping through the Cary Audio Cinema 11 thread and ended up putting that little bugger on my “to watch” list.

I have no knowledge of Cary Audio or if their stuff is any good or not. After reading up on the Cinema 11, I’m guessing it’ll be a dandy as it uses many components found in the Lexicon MC12 (costing over 12K). The Cinema 11 is a stand alone Pre/Pro that was designed to work with their soon to be released Cinema 11v stand alone video processor. They intentionally left HDMI out of the audio processor’s data path and will be using their own I-link between the 11v and 11. The 11v will have six HDMI 1.3 inputs and two live HDMI 1.3 outputs. The 11v will strip the high rez audio off the HDMI input and send it to the Cinema 11 via their I-link (up to 8 channels of 24 bit / 96 kHz each).

This combo sounds pretty cool. MSRP for the 11v is $3500 and the Pre/Pro has an MSRP of $3000.

I just ordered a DVDO VP-50 Pro via DVDO’s upgrade program and I’m thinking I should cancel that order and get this Cary set up. Does anyone have any direct experience with Cary Audio or their products??
