You could always get the new sub for the trial and check it out. Then if you like it, add it to the old sub and have 7.2.
Definitely an option, but if the goal is to save money am I making a major mistake not having a fully integrated system? I don't really know which sub I'd need for my room, but any of the upper end subs would require another large cash outlay.
If it's a major drawback not having an Axiom sub, I'll definitely consider it. If there are others out there enjoying the system without the Axiom sub, I'd love to hear about it. I'm 99% certain that at some point in the future I'll do exactly what StuntGibbon suggests... just not immediately as the plan stands now, unless you all convince me it's idiotic what I have planned.
