Couldn't you use the Rotel amp for the mains from the Yamaha pre-outs?

I can't see the Yamaha noticeably degrading the signal from the CD player.

I think the Rotel pre-amp is surplus. Or, sell it and the Yamaha and get an integrated multi-channel processor solution.
