For me I love my M22s as a 2 channel, but for most M3s as a 2 channel will be the choice. It comes down to personal preferrance. The M22 will give you all the detail you can handle while sacrificing the low end (I bump up the bass in the receiver 3db to enhance the bass), the M3s give you a more laid back sound and appear to have more bass output, but do so while sacrificing midrange forwardness.
