Yes there is. It would be a track that you are very familiar with, one you have heard numerous times that you know these strange sounds you are talking about do not occur in the recording. If they occur you know something is wrong.
You can also get touchy-feely with the driver but we will leave that till later
after you run some other source material through the bytes. Also, playing that same recording(s) through a pair of cans is an excellent idea as well to see if it still occurs.
