Very true, but for those short runs it doesn't cost much more to run thicker wire so why not?

To put this into another perspective, the 6 ohm QS8s would need a minimum of 16 gauge for 36 ft and a 36 ft run wouldn't be all that uncommon for HT.

I have always been running at least 14 gauge just to have some peace of mind.
