It doesn't happen whenever it rains. Only when severe storm clouds are in between you and the sat signal. I live on the New Eng. coast and it goes out maybe 6 times a year for a few minutes or an hour or so.

We're still glad we dumped cable, though the cost was comparatively less (to cable) when we first got it 6 years ago.
