I think because so much modern music is prefabricated and processed (like cheese) to sound like perfect, plastic crap, that older recordings have more air and vibe and sound much more pleasing to the human ear.

I'm pretty certain I will end up an even grumpier old man, playing scratchy old 78's on a Victrola... grin
