Mark, a rather interesting article, but to me most interesting was to read the arrogant nonsense of Stereophile's Mr. Iverson, assigning an importance to high-end audiophiles which is out of touch with reality. Major developments in audio come from major developers. For example, the most significant development of the past 50 years, the CD, was a joint venture of two giants in the industry: Sony and Philips.

What's great about the current audio scene isn't the quality of "high-end"(i.e., high-priced)equipment, but the excellent quality of modestly-priced equipment which the major players in the industry have given us.
