I have an old yamaha and an Onkyo that I use now. Both have the auto cal mic. I thought I had been using the correct one, but I was getting really terrible results. It had my mains running at +11 and the sub at another ridiculous number. I found the other mic and used it. WOW. it sure was a major difference. Both of the mics look very close to one another. I cannot believe how big a difference in the numbers I got. When I used the one that must have been the correct mic, all my settings made sense and you could definitely hear the difference. I know all this sounds like,.....WELL DUHH!!!, but I am completely amazed at the difference.
