The whole article is great, but note the yellow-highlighted section on the left-hand side. After you read that, choose the link at the bottom of that section and read down through the FAQ's on speaker and surround placement, and I think you'll find some reassuring answers... the QS series speakers are very forgiving for placement, and you'll have some viable options in your setup.
