Like you in several ways, it seems. Two guys named Randy with tech careers, both building basement HT using Axiom sound driven by Denon and lit up by Sanyo front projectors. What can I say, great minds think alike.

You are definitely ahead of me on your project. I have a long way to go before sheetrock goes up, but that's one job I won't do myself. I am doing the framing, plumbing, and electrical. That's quite enough work for me with a full kitchen, full bath, 2 bedrooms, laundry rough-in, pool table and pinball areas, plus the 8-seat theater space. Hanging drywall just ain't my thing, especially on the ceiling! Good luck with yours - my neck hurts just thinking about it.

When my Axiom bundle arrives, the basement will be in no condition to accept new speakers. So I guess I'll just have to set them up temporarily in the Family Room for auditioning. I already have an RBH Sound in-wall/in-ceiling surround system in that room with an old 35" Mitsubishi tube - it's not what I would call "HT", but it's good for general movie watching.

My plans had included the Z2 up until the Z3 came out. The higher contrast and ever-so-slightly quieter fan noise swayed me toward the newer model. Of course, if I can get a great deal on a Z2, I may still end up with one. What kind of screen are you lighting up with your Z2?
