On ebay I saw m22tis being sold, so I put a max bid of around $375 on them.

It still didn't meet the reserve. Nobody tried to outbid me for a while(probably all moved onto other auctions).

He tried to resell them. For the hell of it I put the same bid.. still didn't meet reserve. He emailed me asking if I wanted them anyway, and that he would do me a favor and give them to me at that price. I laughed and said with shipping they'd be more used from some random ebay person than factory outlet from Axiom.

Make it sensible. If you're selling on ebay, a good idea would be a reserve that is 50% of the speaker's price, start it at $0, make it a long(say two week) auction. This way you'll get what people think it's worth but without getting too screwed.
